White-Nosed Coati
The White-Nosed Coati lives throughout Central America and Mexico, as well as some areas of Texas and New Mexico. They weigh anywhere from 8.8 to 13.2 pounds, males larger than females. These Coatis are mainly herbavores, eating small vertebrates, fruits, snakes, insects and eggs. Coatis are not nocturnal, and do the majority of their activity during the day. Coatis will fight over food, but rarely do these fights end in death. female White-Nosed Coatis will form clans with younger males.
